Before Christmas I had a little spree in Space NK where I headed straight to the NARS counter and ended up getting a few things ticked off the wish list. Last week I found myself standing in front of the all the pretty NARS make up once again wanting to make the wish list a little bit smaller.
Douceur is a blush in the past I would have completely overlooked. It may not look all that interesting in the pan but once on the cheeks it translate to a subtle contour that works perfectly for minimal make up days and for when you're rocking a red lip. I was going to buy Cyprus as a dupe for Burberry's Pale Barley but by some miracle it came back in stock making getting it a little pointless. After not being able to get it out of my head I took PB with me to do some side by side swatching and I decided they were different enough for me to own both. After I felt like Too Faced's Shadow Insurance wasn't up to the job any more and feeing a bit 'meh' with Urban Decay's Primer Potion I was on the lookout for something new and NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base seemed like the next choice. I've only used this a handful of times but so far I'm impressed.
Since the Satin Lip Pencils were released I've been keen to pick up a few shades but I was never sure which ones to go for. While their limited edition shades were tempting I settled on two of their permanent shades, an all year round bright Luxembourg and a classic peachy nude Biscayne Park. The Velvet Matte Lip Pencils really caught my eye last year after they received a lot of love online and when the positive reviews started pouring in I couldn't help but pick up a couple of shades. Cruella (dark red) and Red Square (orange red) were picked up first with Dragon Girl (blue red) being the most recent and impulsive of buys.
