Not so long along I wouldn't have gone near Clinique skincare, the horror stories I heard about their 3 step skin care routine was enough to put me off forever. I soon changed my mind with all the hype surrounding their Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and while I wasn't a fan (not meant for my skin type) I still highly rate it. As a big fan of Paula Begoun's Beautypedia some of Clinique's moisturisers are given the 'Best' rating and seeing how this is a brand that is readily available in England it makes it a lot easier to try out. Just a warning, you're going to see comedogenic a fair few times!

Clinique Dramatically Moisturising Gel is the only one I haven't tried as a night cream as the main reason I brought this was to use underneath my evening make up, it doesnt contain any SPF or oils that would interfere with primers or foundations. For that job it works perfectly but it contains three highly comedogenic ingredients - Oleth-10, Laureth-23 & Laureth-4. So far I haven't had a problem with it but I shall keep you updated. When I got Clinique Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Cream I though I'd found my HG night moisturiser, this is packed full of antioxidants, has tube packaging and contains no irritating essential oils. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be as I broke out from using this a handful of times, either from the Sea Whip which is highly comedogenic or from the Jojoba oil as my skin can't really handle oil.

This last one caught me by surprise as I'd given up finding the perfect night moisturiser but then Jenny reviewed Clinique's Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturiser and with similar skin types I decided to get a sample this time around and give it a go. Now the name of this is a little misleading as the PH of this cream is too high for the Salicylic Acid to function but as I have an effective BHA exfoliator I'm not bothered by that but just a heads up if you were hoping this could be a two in one. What makes this stand out is it can completely hydrate my skin with upsetting it, most moisturisers these days will contain oils or some other comedogenic ingredient. I've been using this for a month now and I couldn't be happier, when I wake up in the morning my skin is plump, moisturised and there have been no signs of this breaking me out. The only thing I'm not too found of is the jar packaging - ingredients break down quicker due to being exposed to the air but with this cream I can make an exception as in ten years I haven't found as an effective night time moisturiser.

What are your favourite night time creams?
